Wonder Care presents: After School coming soon!

Hi all,

After the release of Wonder Care Presents: The Kinder Guardians #1, I approached Victor about doing a web series based on these three panel strips of knock knock jokes he tagged at the end of the book. I thought it'd be a great idea to do a few of these for fun as a filler when we were between issues.

During the winter months the conversation grew. The thought of doing these like the Sunday Funnies of our youth also presented the challenge of having another outlet to tell stories in this three panel format. This would give the readers an incentive to check back and see what happens next!


We began brainstorming ideas showcasing the kids interacting with each other to even further develop their personalities and quirks, not just on the pages of the comic. The idea of introducing new characters and sharing the untold origin stories of some, opened more creative opportunities for us to share and give to our readership.

As we start this new chapter with the wonderful kids we will begin like they would, with baby steps. Here is the first art from After School!

As of right now we don't have an exact launch date but it will be sometime towards the end of February when my convention season begins. The comics will be published on it's very own tumblr page which you can check out right here: http://wondercareafterschool.tumblr.com/

Welcome back. School's in session with Wonder Care #2!

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great winter break with some much needed time with family and friends. I have a few announcements to ring in the New Year. First off, I have updated my appearances and conventions for 2015. More shows to come as the year rolls out, so be sure to check out where you can find me this year.

The second is that my friend and fellow creative Victor Dandridge sent me the scripts for issues 2 and 3 for our all-ages comic, Wonder Care Presents: The Kinder Guardians. Since then, I've been busy working my through each issue. In an effort to get people excited as our convention season begins, Victor asked me to work on the cover first and I've been posting process pictures and videos via the Instagrams and the Twitters which you can follow with: @whenuwerelittle.

Chicago Book Expo 2014

My last show of the year will be this Saturday at Columbia College. The third annual Chicago Book Expo will be December 6, from 11am - 5pm at Columbia College Chicago, 1104 S. Wasbash. The event is free and open to the public. Come on down and get in on this great literary event!

Reading Rainbow

Last summer Levar Burton and Reading Rainbow broke records with their kickstarter. One of the rewards they announced was a calendar inspired by the theme, "Go Anywhere, Be Anything." They had a contest to submit a piece of artwork to be included as one of the 12 months that features artists such as Chris Eliopoulos (Ordinary People Change the World, Katie Cook, (My Little Pony, and Penny Aracde.

Last weekend they announced the winners and although I wasn't one of the artists to win their very own month, they were so impressed with the artwork I submitted that they selected it as one of their nine honorable mention entries to be featured on the back cover of the calendar!

So I wanted to give you all a closer look at my contribution:

Geek Galaxy Con 2014

The first ever Geek Galaxy Con is this weekend November 15-16! I'll be at table 8! I'll also be recording an episode of Sequential Spirits with Tressina Bowling and Justin Stewart. It should be a good show so tune in for that. Click the links for more info!
